During graduation, the student is completely free in concept and design. The semester consisted of five weeks concept phase, five weeks design phase and five weeks of realization. The aims is to design and realize five physical outfits and a line-up of 18 drawn garments.
research
During the concept phase, I researched power dressing and the relation to (modern) femininity. While writing a thesis on the relation between feminism and the 'new kind of power dressing', I could form my own version of power dressing. By mixing voluminous dresses, elements of sportswear and power suits, my own version of power dressing was created. Voluminous dresses to take up space, elements of sportswear to guarantee the comfort and movement and a feminine view on power suits.

l'unité dans la féminité is a collection about a new kind of power dressing: clothes designed to take up space in a masculine world and to make you feel powerful. It displays femininity and feminine dressing as something powerful and equal to masculinity.

PRINTS
In the eighties, the checkered print was used a lot in masculine power suits. I chose to make a feminine version of the checkered print.
